Outside the moat, the grounds, 17 acres in all, are lovely.

On the mezzanine reached by open tread wooden stairs there are two sofas, if you want peace and quiet, or you can watch the TV, or use the play station(bring your own games)/DVD player, a library with over 200 films, radio internet connection (bring own computer) and possible sleeping for 2 youngsters on the pull out daybed. Downstairs there are two beautiful light and airy bedrooms, one a twin, the other a double with an antique double bed. The large modern family bathroom has bath with a shower. The beamed master bedroom is reached by rustic open tread wooden stairs and is a haven of peace and tranquillity with its 5ft bed white French furniture and a sofa just for you; it has its own en-suite shower room.

The spacious dining room seats 12 people and has an wood-burning fire, exposed beams and a cd player. The main salon has a television, DVD (family DVD's available Free of Charge) and a playstation, with selection of games available. There is also a comfortable double sofa-bed, if required. French doors lead to the terrace, where you have magnificent views of the Mont Dore and Cantal mountain ranges. There is also a second lounge set aside for reading and relaxation.
The pretty courtyard garden has an area with table and chairs for summer dining and a barbeque. The round 15ft swimming pool is sunken into the patio and is fenced with lockable gate to restrict access to toddlers. Sun loungers are available. We also have a games room with a large selection of indoor and outdoor activities and games and a full-sized table-tennis table. La Forge also has a private car park and a summer meadow, where you are welcome to visit our pet goats or play football or badminton. Why not bring a picnic and simply sit and watch the world go by as you lay in the warmth of the summer sun.

Within the 4 acres of tranquil landscaped gardens, including peach, cherry, apple, fig trees and many established shrubs, there is a large pond/lake stocked with Carp. Fishing rods available. There is a small river frequented by the local kingfisher, and ample space for picnics and seclusion.
There is a 10 x 5m pool, in addition to a children's play area that includes swings, slide and sand pit.
We live on site and will do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable. Because we have children ourselves we understand you may have special requirements such as baby baths, toys etc. and will endeavour to meet all requirements that we know we would want if we were away from home.
What more could you want in this totally relaxing environment, and I haven't even mentioned the Buzzards, Sparrowhawks, Hen Harriers, Barn and Tawny Owls, Bats, Nightingales, Lizards.
